Genesis Mini Heat Set Paint – Pyro Red

Genesis heat set  paints are created with just the right amount of transparency. Artists can apply blush without worrying about making it too dark.  The creases and wrinkles can look like gentle shadows in the folds. Eyebrows can be painted in petite thin lines and the foundation skin texture pattern can be applied easily and without looking chalky.

Genesis heat set paint is much like regular oil paint to work with, with the exception that it does not dry until heated. You can work for long periods without the paint drying. When ready simply heat it and it dries within a few minutes. Heating time depends on how thick the paint is, but typically 3 to 5 minutes for normal work, and 10 to 15 minutes for impasto or very thick paint. (Suggested bake time is 8 minutes.) Bake all Genesis heat set paints at 265° Fahrenheit or 130° Celsius. The color will not change during the drying process.

You may heat Genesis as many times as you like to set the various layers. Overpainting on top of previously heated and set paint with Genesis is not a problem.

You do not need to add a solvent like turpentine to Genesis Paint, but you may do so if you want to. Adding a solvent to Genesis will not adversely affect the paint, it will only thin it and make it more “runny” whilst you are working with it. The solvent will eventually evaporate and the Genesis Paint will return to it’s normal constituency. If you are allergic to Turpentine, you may use other solvents like Rubbing Alcohol 91%.

Palettes and brushes do not ever need cleaning as the paint simply will not dry – unless heated. Brushes can however be cleaned with any solvent, or water and soap, or dish washing liquid if you want to clean them.

Mini heat set paints come in a 5gr container
